Jordan | Archive of weather conditions that affected the Kingdom during the 2022/2023 rainy season

Arabia Weather - The Regional Arab Weather Center archives the most prominent weather events and important data for the 2022/2023 rainy season over a period extending from October to May, with the aim of knowing the performance of the rainy season, and for the purposes of referring to it in the future and comparing it to the winter seasons and rainy seasons during the previous and subsequent years, God willing.

A general description about the winter of 2022/2023 and the rainy season

The rainy season began with rainy conditions since the month of October, bringing cold and rainy weather in some periods, but since the onset of the winter square, the Kingdom has witnessed an interruption of the usual winter weather depressions. Despite their presence in the Mediterranean region, they were following an unusual path across Egyptian lands and moving quickly. Towards the north of Saudi Arabia, and due to the extension and overlap of an unusual low sea, the south of the Kingdom in particular and the Bawadi region were exposed to strong cases of instability that made the performance of the rainy season above average in those areas, while the northern and central regions suffered from weak performance of the rainy season until the fifties of the winter in which the behavior returned. The usual weather depressions and the rainy season’s performance modified in the north and center of the Kingdom, and despite the weak start of the season, the rainy season ended with an excellent performance in various regions, especially the central and southern regions, with good amounts of rain, thank God.
