Jordan Valley Authority declares state of emergency and warns of floods

Arab Weather - The Jordan Valley Authority declared a state of emergency in preparation to deal with the repercussions of the low pressure system and the formation of floods in valleys and the rise in water levels in water bodies. All necessary measures were taken by activating the emergency plan in all departments affiliated with it in the northern, central and southern Jordan Valley regions, in addition to the Control Directorate and all its affiliated sites. The readiness of cadres, mechanisms and equipment was also raised to meet the needs of citizens in various regions, including all dam sites spread across the Kingdom.

The Jordan Valley Authority called on citizens, farmers, and livestock breeders to take all necessary precautions to protect lives and property, stressing the need to stay away from water gathering areas, dams, valleys, and torrents, and to adhere to following up on the weather conditions through official sources. The Authority explained that its on-duty crews in all its departments in the Jordan Valley will work around the clock to ensure a rapid and effective response to all emergency cases, and to deal with developments in the prevailing weather conditions.
