وذكرت صحيفة الامارات اليوم ان انهار السد ادى إلى دخول مياه الوادي على مساكن الأهالي في الجانب الشرقي من الغيل قرابة الساعة الخامسة عصراً، واستغاث أهالي المنطقة بقوات الدفاع المدني في المدينة التي باشرت بمساندة رجال شرطة وبالتعاون مع بلدية المدينة والجهات المساندة في مساعدة أهالي الغيل الشرقية على إخلاء مساكنهم وإجلائهم من المنطقة لحين السيطرة على مياه الوادي الذي عاد إلى مجراه
