وذكرت وكالة الأنباء اليابانية أن الثلوج قد بدأت بالتساقط على أنحاء مُتفرقة من الجزيرة في الساعة التاسعة من صباح الأربعاء 16/10/2013 لتسبق موسمها بثلاثة أسابيع بحسب ما أشارت إليه السجلات المناخية للمنطقة.
