ويرجع ضعف الحالة الجوية إلى تراجع تأثير منخفض البحر الأحمر في هذه الأوقات من السنة بشكل معتاد، حيث يبدأ تأثير المنخفض الهندي الموسمي بالسيطرة على أراضي الجزيرة العربية نتيجة لارتفاع حرارة اليابسة مقارنة بفصول الشتاء وبداية الربيع، وهذا من شأنه أن يضعف تأثير منخفض البحر الأحمر ويقتصر تأثيره في أقصى جنوب غرب البلاد وأحياناً ينحسر تأثيره فقط غرب اليمن.
