Urgent | Meteorology issues red warning of heavy rain and lightning in 6 governorates in the Asir region

The National Center for Meteorology issued a red warning for several governorates in the Asir region, as a result of being affected by a state of atmospheric instability until 9:00 PM.

The alert included: Al-Namas, Balqarn, Tanomah, Abha, Ahad Rafidah, Khamis Mushait.

Forecasts indicate that the region will be affected by a number of associated weather phenomena, most notably:

• Moderate rain
• high-speed winds
• Near-zero horizontal visibility
• Thunderstorms
• Hail fell
• Valley and torrent flow

The center called for caution, especially while driving, and urged people to avoid areas where water accumulates and valleys, and to follow updates regularly.
