طقس العرب- تُمثل جبال البرانس 84%  من شبه الجزيرة الايبيرية على مسافة 435 كلم، حيث تعتبر حاجز طبيعي لمرور السحب و الأمطار إلى المنطقة الغربية للجزائر، كما تمنع مع جبال أطلس وصول الأمطار إلى الصحراء الجزائرية فهي حاجز طبيعي؛ لذلك يُمكن اعتبار منطقة غرب الجزائر منطقة ظل جبل.
