Arab Weather - There are 10 days left until the start of summer, astronomically speaking, which begins on June 21 and continues for three months until September 21.
Summer in Jordan is characterized by dry and hot weather due to the beginning of hot and dry air masses dominating the region. This is due to the advance of a high pressure system from the south towards the region and the withdrawal of cold air towards the northern latitudes.
It's normal for temperatures to begin to rise at this time of year, especially as we enter the astronomical summer. Hot air moves closer to the region, leading to a significant rise in temperatures and a hotter climate. Sometimes, the hot air deepens enough to create heat waves.
Regarding the weather and the possibility of heat waves, forecasts still indicate that the hot air masses will not penetrate the region enough to allow heat waves to form, at least for the next five days. The penetration of hot air has so far been limited to normal increases in temperatures.
For a heat wave to form in the region, temperatures must rise by 5 degrees Celsius or more above the average for a period of 3-5 days. This has not happened in the Kingdom to date, despite the rise in temperatures on some days and the hot weather that has prevailed in the Kingdom. However, this has not yet reached the level of a heat wave.
