وتُسمى هذه الرياح بالبوارح الموسمية ويبدأ تاثيرها على الكويت ومنطقة الخليج العربي بنهاية شهر مايو، ليشتد خلال يونيو ويستمر حتى يوليو، ويرجع نشاطها إلى اختلاف الضغط الجوي بين شمال غرب السعودية وجنوب شرقها.
