5 weather phenomena accompanying the low-pressure system that will affect Jordan

Arab Weather - Weather maps indicate that the Kingdom will be affected on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, by a low-pressure system, classified as a second-degree (normal) low-pressure system according to the innovative classification of low-pressure systems in Arab Weather, and it will be accompanied by several weather phenomena which we will review as follows:

1- A noticeable drop in temperatures:

The low-pressure system is expected to be accompanied by a significant drop in temperatures ranging between 10–12 degrees Celsius compared to previous days, making the weather noticeably cold in various regions.

2- Rain:

The low-pressure system is expected to be accompanied by rainfall that will be heavy at times, especially in the north and center of the Kingdom, and will extend to parts of the southern and eastern regions.

3- Thunderstorms:

The low pressure system is also accompanied by the formation of thunderclouds with heavy rain, lightning, and thunder, which may lead to flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas and a rise in water levels.

4- Hail showers:

Hail showers are possible in some areas, as a result of thunderstorm activity, and locally.

5- Active winds and dust:

Active winds are expected, especially in the desert areas, the eastern plains, and the southern highlands. These winds may lead to the formation of dust storms in desert areas and on highways. It is advised to take maximum precautions, especially on desert and highway roads, and to follow weather updates regularly.
