وقع عند الساعة 09,07 بالتوقيت المحلي على بعد 164 كلم شمال غرب مدينة هوتان و131 كلم جنوب شرق بلدة شاشي التي تعرف في لغة الاويغور باسم ياركند وعلى عمق 20 كيلومترا.

 

وأعلنت وزارة الشؤون المدنية ان ستة اشخاص على الاقل قتلوا في اقليم بيشان البالغ عدد سكانه 258 الف نسمة غالبيتهم من اثنية الاويغور المسلمة.
