ArabiaWeather.com - The Italian company "Walti" has invented a machine powered by solar energy, with the aim of providing clean water and generating electricity at the same time.

This machine, which is 40 meters long, 15 meters wide and weighs 15 tons, provides electricity for rechargeable external devices for use in the developing world.

And the founder of the company, Marco Atisani, stated that the machine consists mainly of a large computer that deals with things that computers do normally, and uses solar energy to sterilize more than five thousand liters of water per day, in addition to generating electricity.

This machine combines the optical and thermal powers of solar technology. The solar heat is collected through vacuum tubes, which are later used to evaporate and sterilize the water that is fed to the device. It also cleans polluted water within two hours, according to Reuters.

The photovoltaic energy panels that are located on the surface of the “Computer 3.0 Thermal Device” generate electricity from outside the network to operate the electronic devices inside the device itself, in addition to recharging external devices, such as: mobile phones and laptop computers.

The Walti company stated that one unit in the huge computer continues to operate for 15 years, and its clean emissions can save up to 1,000 tons of environmentally polluting gas emissions, which is equivalent to 2,500 barrels of oil.
