Arab Weather - The latest weather maps and analyses issued by the Arab Weather Center indicate a significant change in the weather systems dominating the region. Hot air masses will begin to sweep across large parts of the Arab world in the coming days, bringing with them early summer weather and temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in eight Arab countries. These hot conditions are expected to be accompanied by significant dust-raising winds in some areas.
Large parts of the Arab world are experiencing generally hot to extremely hot weather, including Egypt, the Levant, the Arabian Peninsula, and Yemen. A hot air mass is sweeping in from the south and southeast, affecting these regions. Early summer weather prevails, with temperatures significantly higher, especially during the daytime, exceeding their usual levels for this time of year. This creates exhausting and tiring conditions in many cities.
Temperatures are expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius in a number of Arab capitals in the coming days, with temperatures likely to touch or exceed 40 degrees Celsius in Cairo, Baghdad, Riyadh, Kuwait City, and Doha. Temperatures will also rise to 40 degrees Celsius in the Jordan Valley, particularly the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, as well as in the desert regions of the Arabian Peninsula, such as the interior parts of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the eastern Emirates.
This early rise in temperatures is due to the growth of a subtropical high in the upper atmosphere, which promotes atmospheric stability and prevents the formation of rain clouds. This high heats the air near the ground's surface as a result of increased sunlight during daytime hours, raising temperatures to levels considered close to summer temperatures, especially in inland and desert regions. This hot weather is expected to continue for several days, amid indications that the high will continue to affect large parts of the region.
God knows best.
