أعلنت المملكة العربية السعودية أن يوم الجمعة المتمم لشهر ذي القعدة وأن أول أيام شهر ذي الحجة سيكون يوم السبت الموافق 3 أيلول على أن يكون الـحد يوم وقفة عرفات والموافق 11 أيلول وبذلك يكون الإثنين أول أيام عيد الأضحى المبارك الموافق 12 أيلول/سبتمبر .

يشار إلى أن رؤية الهلال بالعين المجردة أو التلسكوب غير ممكنة مساء الخميس نظرا لكسوف الشمس الذي وقع خلال الفترة 10:30 صباحا حتى 12:40 ظهرا .
