موقع طقس العرب - قال المركز الوطني الأمريكي للأعاصير ومقره ميامي ان الإعصار ماريا اشتد وتحول إلى إعصار خطير من الفئة الخامسة وذلك على مقياس سافير سيمبسون المؤلف من خمس درجات، في الوقت الذي اجتاح فيه الكاريبي ليل الاثنين.

وأضاف المركز أن الإعصار ماريا بات على بعد 25 كيلومترا جنوب شرقي الدومنيكا محملا برياح سرعتها القصوى 260 كيلومترا في الساعة.

وقال المركز "من المحتمل أن يكتسب (الإعصار) قوة إضافية الليلة ولكن من المحتمل أن يشهد مستوى الشدة بعض التقلبات خلال اليومين القادمين".
