ارتفاع حرارة الانهار في شمال غرب أمريكا تقضي على آلاف أسماك السلمون

موقع ArabiaWeather.com- تسبب ارتفاع درجة حرارة الأهار في غير موسمها في نفوق نحو نصف أسراب أسماك السلمون (سوكي) الحمراء المهاجرة في نهر كولومبيا عبر ولايتي أوريجون وواشنطن الأمريكيتين.

 

فيما نجا نحو 272 ألفا من بين أكثر من 507 آلآف من أسماك السلمون التي سبحت بين سدين في المنطقة السفلى من نهر كولومبيا من هذه الرحلة، وفقا لمدير ادارة اوريجون للأسماك والمصائد جون نورث.

 

وأكد أنهم لم يشهدوا حالات نفوق بهذا الحجم، حيث تسببت حرارة الجو وتناقص ذوبان القمم الجليدية بدرجة غير معتادة في ارتفاع درجة حرارة مياه الانهار؛ مما دفع السلطات الى تقييد الصيد وبذل الجهود لانقاذ الأسماك المهددة ومنها دفع أسماك السلمون الى مياه أبرد.

 

يشار أن ولايات الساحل الغربي الامريكية تتعرض لموجات جفاف. وتظهر بيانات السلطات الاتحادية ان كولومبيا تشهد ثالث أعلى عدد من أسماك سوكي العائدة من المحيط منذ 1960.
