Public Security: The Royal Badia Police rescued four citizens who were trapped by floods in the Al-Ruwaished area

Weather of Arabia - The media spokesman for the Public Security Directorate reported that a report had been received from the Royal Badia Police and Civil Defense about the presence of four people trapped by floods inside their vehicle in the Al-Ruwaished area.

He added in a statement, a copy of which was received by Roya, that immediate action was taken to the place and efforts were made to evacuate them, stressing that they are all in good health.

In a separate context, the Greater Amman Municipality declared a moderate state of emergency, starting Tuesday morning, to deal with the extension of a low air depression centered over the island of Cyprus, according to a report from the Meteorological Department.

The media spokesman for the Amman Municipality, Nasser Al-Rahamneh, confirmed the readiness of the municipality’s staff on the ground to deal with any reports received at the Tla’ Al-Ali emergency room, calling on citizens, if any observation is detected, to call the unified call center numbers (102 and 117180).

He called on citizens to exercise caution by staying away from valley streams and low-lying areas, not to connect house gutters to sewage manholes to avoid overflowing into the roads, and not to throw waste randomly as it may cause the closure of rainwater drainage lines.

He stressed the need to inspect submersible pumps on floors and shops located below street level, and for merchants to take preventive precautions when storing goods in warehouses and settlement floors.

He called on contractors and owners of construction projects to take the initiative to secure building materials to avoid them washing away and directly causing the closure of rainwater drainage lines.
