Weather of Arabia - The maximum load of the morning electrical system today, Thursday, reached 2900 megawatts, amid expectations that it will rise in the evening to 3050 megawatts, according to the Director General of the National Electric Power Company, Eng. Abdel Fattah Al-Daradkeh.

In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Daradkeh described the electrical loads as normal, and that the generating capacity of 4,500 megawatts is sufficient to accommodate them.

Al-Daradkeh indicated that the highest load reached 3120 megawatts and was recorded last Tuesday, stressing the readiness of the National Electric Power Company to deal with the expected loads in coordination and cooperation with the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Authority, which is entrusted with monitoring and following up the electrical system in the Kingdom.

The Kingdom is witnessing successive depressions, which raise loads, as a result of the demand for the use of electricity for heating purposes.

The annual growth rate of the demand for electric power is estimated at about 3 percent, while the demand for electric power is estimated at about 3 percent.
