Arab Weather - Saudi astronomer Dr. Khaled Al-Zaqaq confirmed that the scorching summer in the Kingdom has effectively ended, noting that we are now on the cusp of the autumn season, known as the Safri season, when the atmosphere gradually turns yellow and temperatures begin to noticeably drop late at night and early in the day, while remaining relatively high during the afternoon.

The Safri season is the period immediately preceding the Wasm season. It is characterized by relatively cool nights and early mornings, and moderate, dry winds that help stabilize the weather before the onset of the monsoon rains. Safri is considered an indicator of approaching moderate weather and a gradual decrease in summer temperatures.

Al-Zaqaq explained that winter will begin in about 70 nights, while we are only 30 nights away from the Wasm season, which begins on October 16th of each year and is considered one of the most beautiful days of the year. The Wasm season is known for its balanced and moderate weather, with an increased chance of light rain that nourishes the land with plants, hence the name "Wasm." This season is considered ideal for plant growth and preparing the land for winter.

This seasonal change heralds the onset of milder, more humid conditions conducive to plant growth, while still maintaining relatively hot daytime weather. This puts the Kingdom on the cusp of a unique season for agriculture and outdoor recreation.
