Weather of Arabia - The Saudi Geological Survey confirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was not affected, praise be to God, by the earthquake that occurred in the Republic of Turkey this morning, Monday 7/15/1444 AH, corresponding to 2/6/2023 AD, at 4:17:35 with a magnitude of 7.7 degrees. Richter scale, due to the distance between the earthquake site and the Saudi border, which is more than 1000 km.

Tariq Aba Al-Khail, the authority's official spokesman, explained that the cause of the earthquake is due to the active tectonic movement of the Anatolian Rift in southeastern Turkey, which is a seismically active crack due to the tectonic stresses resulting from the collision of the Arabian plate with the Eurasian plate in the Taurus Mountains region in southeastern Turkey.
