In a press statement today, Friday, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Authority, Dr. Hussein Al-Laboun praised the performance of the technical electricity sector workshops operating in the field in dealing with power outages, stressing that the electrical system witnessed stability in the electrical loads during the depression.
In this regard, he said that the highest load of the electrical system was recorded last Wednesday at 17:53 pm and reached 3375 MW, which is within the normal range at this time of the year compared to the highest system load recorded in the same month of last year, which amounted to 3630 MW.
Regarding the details of the faults, Dr. Al-Laboon said that the Jordanian Electricity Company, which is responsible for distributing electricity in the middle of the Kingdom, dealt with 2845 faults, of which 2778 were addressed, while the Electricity Distribution Company responsible for the southern, Jordan Valley and eastern regions of the Kingdom dealt with 275 faults, of which 265 were addressed.
In the areas of the Irbid Governorate Electricity Company, which is responsible for the north of the Kingdom, the company has dealt with 731 faults, 730 faults have been dealt with, while the follow-up is underway with the companies to restore the power to the remaining outages.
According to Dr. Al-Laboun, the authority's call centers and electricity companies dealt with the calls received to these centers, most of which were concentrated in the electricity sector, urging electricity distribution companies to respond quickly to citizens' calls and restore electricity as quickly as possible.
Al-Laboun emphasized that the authority’s cadres follow around the clock the performance of the electricity companies and the efforts to restore electrical current to the areas in which there are interruptions due to weather conditions, praising the efforts of the authority’s staff that practiced their work through field teams and through the Authority’s Monitoring and Emergency Center.

He said that the Authority's Monitoring and Emergency Center continues to receive citizens' complaints and follow them up with the concerned authorities around the clock, and the authority continues its regulatory and supervisory role on the sector to ensure the continuity of the supply of electric power to all subscribers and the provision of gas cylinders and oil derivatives in all regions of the Kingdom and in coordination with the official authorities and companies Sector and ensure compliance with emergency plans, preventive and public safety measures in these circumstances in the Kingdom.
