Weather of Arabia - The Director General of the National Electricity Company, Eng. Amjad Al-Rawashdeh, announced today, Sunday, a plan prepared by the company in preparation for emergency situations during the winter season.

This came during Rawashdeh's meeting with the assistant general manager and technical department managers at the company's national monitoring and control center, whose mission is to manage and operate the electrical system in the Kingdom.

Al-Rawashdeh said that the company has prepared an emergency plan and precautionary measures in preparation for the winter season, and has ensured the readiness of the special technical teams to deal with any technical problems that may occur in the equipment of the electric transmission system (high-voltage transmission lines and substations) through the national control center that deals with all faults. that may occur in the electrical system through coordination with the concerned cadres in the company.

He added that the company, through its national monitoring and control center in southern Amman, is making efforts to meet the demand for electric power by developing and implementing appropriate operational strategies and plans, and ensuring the capacity and readiness of the generation stations to accommodate any emergency increase in demand for electricity.

Regarding the winter preparation plan, Al-Rawashdeh explained that the company has completed periodic and preventive maintenance work for its substations and electric transmission lines, and has arranged shifts for engineers working in the main and support operations rooms, as well as shifts for engineers in all substations operating throughout the Kingdom around the clock.

He predicted that the maximum load of the electrical system is expected to reach 3250 megawatts during next January, compared to 3205 for the same period last year, i.e. a growth rate of 1 percent, compared to an estimated generating capacity of about 4840 megawatts of conventional and renewable generating energy.
