موقع ArabiaWeather.com- أعلن العلماء في جامعة نوفوسيبيرسك الروسية، عن عثورهم على آثار جزر قديمة تابعة لمحيط مائي اختفى منذ زمن قديم في جبال تيان شان بجنوب شرق روسيا،

 

وتشبه بنية الجزر القديمة المكتشفة بنية جزر هاواي حاليا، وفقا للناطق باسم جامعة نوفوسيبيرسك في حديث له لوكالة "نوفوستي".

 

ويضم فريق البحث علماء من بريطانيا وألمانيا وروسيا واليابان برئاسة عالمة الجيولوجيا إينا سافونوفا، وجرى نشر نتائج الدراسة في مجلة “ Gondwana Research”  العلمية.

 

وكان المحيط التركستاني (تيان شان الجنوبي) يمتد قديما بين قارتي "كازاخستان" و"تريم" القديمتين واللتان انضمتا فيما بعد إلى القارة الأوراسية، وفقا للدراسة.

 

وأوضحت الباحثة "سافونوفا" أنهم تمكنوا من تحديد عمر الصخور التي تتكون منها الجزر المكتشفة والتي كانت تشكل في الماضي البعيد قاع المحيط، حيث بلغت 55 مليون عام.

 

ويعتقد العلماء أن أبعاد المحيط التركستاني يمكن مقارنتها بأبعاد المحيط الهندي الحالي، وأنه اختفى نتيجة اقتراب القارات من بعضها البعض.
