موقع ArabiaWeather.com- غزت أسرابا من السلطعون الأحمر السواحل الجنوبية لولاية كاليفورنيا، بعد أن جرفتها الأمواج في ظاهرة تتكرر للعام الثاني على التوالي؛ أرجعها العلماء إلى ارتفاع حرارة تيارات المحيط التي تترافق مع ظاهرة النينيو.

 

وأوضح علماء البحريات أن أسراب السلطعون الأحمر تتركز غالبا في المياه المكسيكية قبالة شبه جزيرة باخا، إلا أن تيارات المحيط الدافئة تحمل الأسراب إلى مناطق أبعد في الشمال وأقرب إلى الشواطئ.

 

وقالوا إن ظهور هذه الأسراب تزامن مع ظاهرة النينيو المناخية التي تتسبب بتغيير درجة حرارة المحيطات والتيارات المائية في شرق المحيط الهادي، وفقا لـ "رويترز".

 

يشار إلى أن  أسراب السلطعون ظهرت خلال شهر يونيو/ حزيران الماضي على طول الشواطئ التي تمتد من سان دييجو إلى مقاطعة أورانج.
