طقس العرب- اجتاحت موجة برد شديدة معظم مناطق الشمال الشرقي والغرب الأوسط الأمريكي وانخفضت درجات الحرارة لتسجل أرقاما قياسية في عدة مدن وترافقت موجة البرد بتساقط كثيف لثلوج في عدة مناطق تجاوزت فيها تراكمات الثلوج 150 سم.

وقد أشارت تقارير لدائرة الأرصاد الجوية الوطنية أن موجة البرد في النصف الشرقي من الولايات المتحدة هي الأبرد خلال 70 سنة الماضية على الأقل، حيث كسرت أرقامًا قياسية في عدة مدن وقد سجلت درجة الحرارة في مدينة فلينت ولاية ميتشيغان 27 درجة تحت الصفر لتكسر الرقم القياسي لشهر ديسمبر المسجل عام 1921.
