The Elephant Trunk Nebula was successfully photographed by the Seal Observatory in Abu Dhabi

Weather of Arabia - The International Astronomy Center announced yesterday evening, Thursday, the success of its Astronomical Seal Observatory, in photographing the "Elephant Trunk" nebula from Abu Dhabi.

The "Elephant's Proboscis" nebula resembles the head and trunk of an elephant, so I called it this name. It consists of dust and gas, and is 2,400 light-years away from Earth.

Muhammad Shawkat Odeh, head of the International Astronomy Center, told the "Al-Ain News" portal that the imaging was carried out using hydrogen, oxygen and sulfur filters, and the total duration of imaging was 10 and a half hours. in depth.

The Elephant Trunk Nebula is more than 20 light-years long and can be found within a small stellar mass embedded within a cloud of ionized gas in the constellation "The Flaming", known as (IC 1396).

The Elephant Proboscis is made of dust and gas, which blocks its light on its way to Earth and leaves behind a long, thin silhouette that gives the nebula its name, and makes it one of many animal-like nebulae.

The capture of this image by the International Astronomy Center is a confirmation of its efficiency in monitoring, which qualified it to be selected by the US space agency "NASA" to be one of the observatories participating in the monitoring of the first planetary defense experiment (the collision of the orbiter with the asteroid Demorophos).
