وأضافت أن مركز الزلزال سُجل على عمق عشرة كيلومترات فى منطقة تشنانديجا بشمال شرق البلاد، ولم ترد تقارير فورية عن وفيات أو إصابات في الزلزال الذي كان مركزه على عمق عشرة كيلومترات .

 

وقالت حكومة نيكاراغوا أن أضرارا لحقت بكنيسة قرب مركز الزلزال وإنها ما زالت تتحقق من أي أضرار أخرى فى المنطقة.
