Arab Weather - Residents of several countries in the Eastern Mediterranean region observed a bright fireball suddenly flashing across the sky last night, in Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, and even the island of Cyprus. The phenomenon was clearly visible in the skies of these regions over a short period of time.
At the time of writing, the exact cause of the glowing ball remains unknown, but some hypotheses suggest it may have been the result of an artificial object exploding outside Earth's atmosphere, such as a ballistic missile or space debris returning from orbit.
It is explained that such objects, upon entering the atmosphere at high speeds, are subjected to intense friction, which causes them to heat up and explode in the upper layers of the atmosphere, resulting in a powerful flash of light that can be seen from wide areas, similar to the phenomenon of meteors or meteorites.
Such objects often do not reach the Earth's surface, burning up completely in the upper atmosphere and therefore posing no immediate threat to human life. Nevertheless, they remain a relatively rare and intriguing phenomenon, especially when observed from several countries simultaneously.
