Despite the difference in the date of the occurrence of the two storms, they have in common the fact that they are two spring weather events that are in the same season and climatic conditions.
According to the latest outputs of numerical models, the sandstorm expected on Friday will be smaller compared to the dark storm, but it will affect the same countries: the Levant Desert, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the Emirates, and later Oman and Yemen.
The coming storm will lead to a lack of horizontal visibility in some central, eastern and southern regions of Saudi Arabia, where the formation of a wall sandstorm north of the Riyadh region and its movement towards the capital on Friday evening, as happened in the dark storm, is not ruled out.
However, the storm remains dark and has a wider impact in terms of areas where the horizontal visibility is lost due to it, as the impact of the storm reached several Gulf cities such as Doha, Manama, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and its impact also reached Dammam and Jubail in eastern Saudi Arabia, while it strongly affected Hafar Al-Batin and Rafha in the north of the Kingdom and large parts of West of the State of Kuwait.
Due to the huge thermal difference that will occur between Friday and Saturday, and the movement of a cold air front from the north of the Arabian Peninsula towards its center, and also the presence of a shallow air depression in the middle of the Arabian Gulf, the expected winds will be strong in areas of a sandy nature, which will lead to the formation of this strong sandstorm as happened During the storm it is dark.
