Karak Governorate | Rockslides close the bridge leading to Karak city

Arab Weather - Rockslides caused the closure of the bridge leading to the city of Karak in the south of the Kingdom at dawn on Sunday, December 28, 2025, which led to a temporary halt in traffic on the road, while the competent authorities began their field work to remove the fallen rocks and work to reopen the road as soon as possible.

In detail, the Arab Weather correspondent in Karak Governorate reported that very heavy rain fell during the early hours of Sunday, as a result of the Kingdom being affected by a third-degree low-pressure system according to the Arab Weather scale for the intensity of low-pressure systems, which led to soil saturation and an increased probability of rockslides in mountainous areas.

Arab Weather warns of the need to exercise caution while driving in the affected areas, and to stay away from flood channels and rocky slopes, until the weather conditions stabilize and the road is fully opened.
