Arab Weather - The UAE and the Sultanate of Oman are currently affected by a very large dust wave originating from the deserts of Iran and Pakistan, extending to include large areas in the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. According to initial estimates and approximate calculations, the area of this huge wave is estimated at about 1,200,000 square kilometers, making it larger than the area of approximately 17 Arab countries.
When comparing the area of the massive dust storm with that of Arab countries, we find that the dust storm area is larger than the area of most Arab countries. Considering the area of each country, we find that the dust storm area is larger than:
1. Egypt
2. Mauritania
3. Morocco
4. Yemen
5. Iraq
6. Somalia
7. Oman
8. Syria
9. Tunisia
10. Jordan
11. United Arab Emirates
12. Kuwait
13. Qatar
14. Lebanon
15. Palestine
16. Djibouti
17. Comoros Islands
These dust particles lead to a significant decrease in horizontal visibility in the affected areas, especially in the eastern and northeastern parts of the UAE, including Sharjah and Dubai. Arab Weather advises citizens and residents to take precautionary measures, especially those with respiratory and eye conditions, by limiting direct exposure to dust and following weather forecasts regularly.
