موقع ArabiaWeather.com- قامت وكالة الفضاء الأمريكية "ناسا" بنشر صور لحركة الكثبان على كوكب المريخ. وتبين الصور التي التقطها المسبار "كوريوسيتي" حركة هذه الكثبان خلال أعوام 2010 – 2014 .

 

وقد بدأ المسبار "كوريوسيتي" في دراسة هذه الكثبان الرملية التي تتحرك مسافة متر واحد خلال 687 يومًا أرضيًا.

 

يشار إلى أن المسبار كوريوسيتي يقع حاليًا في الجزء السفلي من سفح جبل "شارب" (يطلق عليه رسميا اسم Eolida) في منطقة الرمال، ويبلغ ارتفاع الجبل في هذه المنطقة 5.5 كلم.
