ونقلت وكالة الأنباء الصينية شينخوا عن المدير التنفيذي للمجلس الوطني للحد من مخاطر الكوارث في الفلبين ريكاردو غالاد قوله اليوم إن معظم الضحايا سقطوا في منطقة كورديليرا نتيجة الانهيارات الأرضية.

 

وأشار إلى أن الفيضانات تسببت بتشريد 35486 عائلة مؤلفة من 149659 شخصا معظمهم يقيم في مراكز إيواء خاصة.

 

وتسبب الإعصار هايما بتدمير عدد كبير من المنازل وأدى إلى انقطاع التيار الكهربائي وحدوث انزلاقات أرضية في المناطق الجبلية كما دمر حقول الأرز والذرة قبل توجهه نحو بحر الصين الجنوبي باتجاه هونغ كونغ وجنوب الصين.
