Arab Weather - Police said that New Zealand research teams returned to the volcanic island of White Island on Sunday, but were unable to locate the remaining two bodies during their search, while the number of victims of the island's volcano eruption rose to 16 today.

The authorities said that eight members of the police search and rescue teams were deployed for 75 minutes in an area whose information indicated the possibility of one dead body.

"I can say that we have not found any other bodies in that area," Deputy Police Commissioner Mike Clement told a news conference on Sunday.

On Friday, six bodies had been successfully recovered from the island by a team from the New Zealand Army and taken to the mainland for identification as part of the disaster identification process.

The police said they would do everything in their power to find the remaining two bodies. She added that police and army divers are still combing water around the island.

On Saturday, divers faced difficulties in researching polluted water with reduced visibility as the sea was combed around the island.
