He added that more than 20 thousand homes were completely destroyed and another 20 thousand damaged, "noting that about 2000 water sources have been contaminated or out of work, which harms access to clean water amid the Covid-19 pandemic .
He explained that the collapse of the Butt Dam in Blue Nile State on July 29 may affect 100,000 people accessing water, adding that the government and relief organizations are providing plastic sheeting, tents, medicines, water purification supplies and mosquito nets there. It also provides shelter, water and health assistance in Darfur .
Sudan has been witnessing monsoon rains since early July, which will continue until the end of October.
