In turn, NASA confirmed the landing of the spacecraft, and said on the “X” platform, “Frank Rubio returned to Earth after 371 days .”

Why did the astronauts' journey last more than a year?

Answer: The three astronauts spent 371 days stuck in space; Their return process was delayed for six months. Due to an accident in their primary Russian spacecraft , “Soyuz MS-22,” where a leak occurred in the external circuit of its thermal control system last December 15, and this leak resulted in a decrease in pressure; For this reason, the unmanned Russian spacecraft " Soyuz MS-23" was sent to the International Space Station to retrieve the astronauts, and the crew of the Russian spacecraft "Soyuz MS-23" re-set a record for the duration of a single space flight, as they spent an exceptional period of time on the station.
