4.9-magnitude earthquake hits northern Pakistan

ArabiaWeather.com- The northern parts of Pakistan were hit by an earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale yesterday, without causing any human or material losses.

The epicenter of the tremor, which was felt by the population, included the regions of Chitral, Swat Valley, Ashingla, Malakand and the tribal region bordering Afghanistan, at a depth of 300 km in the Hindu Kush mountain range between Pakistan and Afghanistan, according to the country's Meteorological and Geological Survey Department.
