A Jordanian engineer designs tents for refugees that collect rain and store solar energy

ArabiaWeather.com- Jordanian engineer Abeer Seikaly, who lives in Canada, has designed a unique folding tent to help millions of refugees, with the aim of helping them in various circumstances.

These tents can be designed to collect rainwater and store solar energy in batteries to provide residents with electricity and hot water. Rainwater is collected at the top of the tent, and then this water is filtered on the sides for use indoors.

The tent residents can also benefit from the solar energy that is stored during the day and converted into electrical and thermal energy. This process is achieved thanks to the fabric used to build the tent, which has strong thermal properties.

Tents are the first choice for all countries receiving refugees to shelter them, despite their inability to receive large numbers of refugees and their inability to adequately protect refugees from different weather conditions.
