Arab Weather - Computer maps at the Arab Weather Center indicate that the region will be affected, God willing, at the beginning of next week by a Khamsin low-pressure system followed by an influx of colder than usual air mass for this time of year, leading to radical and significant changes in the weather.
God willing, on Saturday a Khamsin low-pressure system will approach the eastern Mediterranean basin, causing temperatures to rise noticeably, with warm weather in various parts of the Kingdom during the daytime, tending towards hot at noon and afternoon, with clouds appearing at medium and high altitudes.
During the first part of Sunday, God willing, the Kingdom and the region will be affected by the Khamsin low-pressure system, with maximum temperatures around the mid-twenties Celsius, and a gradual increase in dust levels in the atmosphere, turning the weather dusty in many areas.
As the day progresses, the Kingdom will begin to be affected by a surge of colder-than-usual air mass coming from behind the Khamsin low-pressure system. Therefore, a clear and rapid drop in temperatures will occur, and the weather will turn noticeably cold on Sunday evening and night/Monday, with clouds appearing at different altitudes, and local muddy rain is possible in limited areas.
The southwesterly winds will gradually become more active, turning westerly, and will be brisk in all regions, and strong in the desert and eastern plains, accompanied by severe gusts that may reach or exceed 100 km/h.
These winds will cause sandstorms and dense dust waves in desert areas, especially in the south and east of the Kingdom, including the Badia region, the desert road and external roads, including the international road linking the capital Amman and Baghdad (Baghdad International Road), in addition to border crossings such as: Al-Omari, Al-Turaibil, Al-Mudawwarah, where a significant decrease in horizontal visibility is expected, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.
God willing, the Kingdom is expected to be affected on Monday by an air mass colder than usual, with a noticeable drop in temperatures, becoming about 6-8 degrees Celsius below average.
The weather will be relatively cold in various regions, with clouds appearing at different altitudes. The winds will be moderate to brisk, with active gusts, especially in the desert and eastern regions, and will be dust-raising in those areas.
In light of these sharp weather and temperature fluctuations, it is advised not to rush into shedding clothes, to pay attention to the large differences in temperatures between day and night, and to be careful of heavy dust, especially in desert areas and on highways.
And God knows best.
