Arab Weather - Health authorities in Spain have estimated that 327 deaths have been recorded as a result of the heat wave that has been hitting the country since Sunday, in a tally that reflects the severity of the exceptional weather conditions witnessed in large areas of the country.
Spain is experiencing a significant rise in temperatures, exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in some areas, leading to a noticeable increase in heat stress, especially among the elderly and those with chronic diseases, amid official warnings against direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours.
These figures confirm that heat waves are no longer just a normal weather phenomenon, but have become a direct threat to public health, given the recurring extreme weather phenomena witnessed by the European continent and the world in recent years.
Spanish authorities continue to raise the alert level, with calls for residents to drink plenty of water, avoid outdoor activities at midday, and use air-conditioned spaces as much as possible to reduce the health risks caused by the extreme heat.
