Arab Weather - The capital Amman and various Jordanian cities experienced warmer than usual weather on Thursday, January 8, 2026, as temperatures rose and spring-like conditions prevailed in most areas, as a result of the Kingdom being affected by a warmer than usual air mass preceding the Kingdom being affected by a new low-pressure system on Friday.
Weather experts at Arab Weather reported that the capital, Amman, recorded maximum temperatures ranging between 19-20 degrees Celsius on Thursday afternoon, while the rest of the regions recorded 18-21 degrees Celsius. As for the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, the weather was warmer than the rest of the regions, and temperatures were recorded ranging between 24-27 degrees Celsius.
The latest weather forecast issued by Arab Weather indicates that there will be radical changes in temperatures on Friday, as they are expected to drop significantly and noticeably, coinciding with the Kingdom being affected by a third-degree (moderate to highly effective) low-pressure system, accompanied by a cold front that will cause moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by showers of hail.
Accordingly, the maximum temperatures on Friday are expected to range between 8–11 degrees Celsius in the mountains, especially in the capital Amman, and between 17–24 degrees Celsius in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba regions.
Given these significant temperature changes, Arab Weather recommends:
