In the context of the follow-up of His Majesty the Hashemite Majesty - may God preserve him - the mechanisms of dealing with the official authorities with the repercussions of the Corona epidemic and its effects, His Majesty presided over a meeting of the National Policy Council today, in the presence of His Highness Prince Al-Hussein bin Abd Al-Thani - may God preserve it ﷲ -
His Majesty stressed the necessity to allow strict sectors to operate, strict preventive and health controls to protect citizens and preserve their safety, and the importance of building a firm business strategy that takes into account that.
His Majesty also instructed to conduct a comprehensive study in cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Medical Services on the health and medical plan for the coming months, in terms of numbers of beds and medical personnel in the intensive care rooms, respiratory equipment and corona virus detection, and the treatment services provided in hospitals.
HH The Heir Apparent stressed the importance of increasing the number of examinations during the next stage, in conjunction with allowing the return of sectors to work, because the number of examinations is the most important indicator to better assess the epidemiological situation.
And on the sustainability of the work, production and supply chains team related to the possibility of operating the vital sectors, according to specific controls and conditions, and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply will shortly announce a series of decisions in this regard.
Today, the Council of Ministers held a session headed by Prime Minister Dr. Omar Al-Razzaz, during which they discussed many aspects related to the adaptation stage of the Corona epidemic, and the implications of it, in addition to many recommendations issued by the relevant teams,
It was decided, based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Transport and the specialized teams, to restart the public transport sector, with its various types, at a rate not exceeding (50%) as of next Wednesday, in all governorates and regions of the Kingdom, in order to keep pace with the restart of the industrial and commercial sectors, and to serve the workers therein. .
The work of public transportation will be organized according to the number of vehicles and even vehicles, and the percentage will be reviewed weekly, and the Ministry of Transport will announce the details within the next few hours.
The Cabinet also discussed the mechanism of work in public sector institutions, and it was decided to extend the suspension of ministries, institutions, public bodies and official departments from Saturday morning, 5/2/2020 until the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
And in a way that guarantees the continuity of providing the main services to the citizens, and the sustainability of work according to the requirements of public health and safety.
Excluded from the decision to suspend vital government sectors that the nature of its work requires otherwise, and is determined by the concerned minister, and with a percentage of no more than (30%) of the number of employees working in it, and if the need arises in the necessary sectors to increase this percentage so that it does not exceed (50%) From the number of employees,
Excluded from the decision to suspend vital sectors in the private sector that are determined in accordance with defense orders issued in this regard, institutions of the banking sector authorized to operate by a decision of the Governor of the Central Bank, and the health sector in its entirety, both public and private.
The Cabinet decided to assume the state treasury for the value of interest on loans, or portions of loans, granted by the Central Bank to small and medium-sized companies, for the purposes of financing the salaries of its employees, which were disrupted during the Corona pandemic crisis. Instructions to be published to this end will be issued.
