Weather of Arabia - The US Geological Survey reported that the new year began with an earthquake measuring 4.1 in magnitude in the Los Angeles area of California , without any injuries or damage recorded.

International news agencies reported, and the Washington Times reported, that a “very mild” earthquake shook the city of Culver City, Los Angeles County, in the early morning hours of yesterday, Monday , and although the earthquake was mild, it was enough to wake residents.

Reports indicated that a "small" earthquake was detected in Lawndale, which is located closer to the epicenter of the earthquake in the Pacific Ocean. According to information issued by the Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred about 19 kilometers from Rancho Palos Verdes, which is about 50 kilometers from Los Angeles.

This accident comes after a strong earthquake in December 2022, as the earthquake in areas of Northern California caused landslides that led to the death of at least two people, and caused power cuts to thousands of people.
