Aqaba: Dust, high waves, and chances of thunderstorms at the end of the week

Arab Weather - Computer maps in Arab Weather indicate expectations that the Gulf of Aqaba region will be affected by unstable weather conditions towards the end of this week, especially during the evening and night hours of Friday/Saturday.

In detail, God willing, relatively stable weather is expected during the morning hours of Friday. In the afternoon and evening hours, a clear increase in wind speed is expected in the Gulf of Aqaba region, carrying dust and sand, and may be accompanied by strong gusts ranging in speed from 50 to 60 km/h, leading to a decrease in horizontal visibility.

These strong winds also cause sea disturbance and high waves, with wave heights expected to range from 70 cm to about one meter, especially in the deep waters of the Gulf of Aqaba.

On Saturday, thunderstorms are expected to form in the southern regions of the Kingdom during the morning hours, including the Aqaba Governorate and the surrounding areas, including Wadi Rum, Al-Disa and the Southern Ghor, where the chances of thunderstorms will increase.

These precipitations may be accompanied by a sudden and strong increase in wind speed, as well as the possibility of local thunderstorms.
