Arab Weather App - Aqaba recorded a maximum temperature of 49.6°C today, making it the second highest temperature recorded on Earth for that day, after Abadan in Iran at 50.6°C, and before Kuwait International Airport at 49.5°C. This record comes just hours after Aqaba recorded the highest national temperature in its history (48.5°C in 2020).
This comes as the Kingdom has been affected by an extremely hot air mass since last Friday, which peaked on Wednesday, causing a significant rise in temperatures across various regions of the Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the city's skies are witnessing local thunderstorms, increasing the chances of rain showers in the coming hours. These showers may be accompanied by dust-raising winds, with the possibility of temporarily reducing horizontal visibility.
