Arab weather - The Kingdom is gradually affected by the Red Sea depression, which is accompanied by the flow of relatively hot and dusty air currents and some unstable weather.

The weather is relatively warm in different regions, and becomes less warm with the passage of time at night, but it is dusty at times.

Amounts of clouds appear at different altitudes, and may be interspersed with the formation of some cumulus clouds in random areas of the Kingdom, resulting in the possibility of local showers and thunderstorms, God willing.

The winds will be southeasterly, moderate to brisk, in the eastern Badia regions, and may cause the formation of some dust waves in those areas, which can sometimes extend to parts of the north and center of the Kingdom, while the winds will be northwesterly moderate in speed in the south of the country.

Recommendations:

1. Attention while driving from the danger of low horizontal visibility in the eastern Badia regions as a result of some dust waves.
2. Attention to the dangers of high levels of dust in the atmosphere and its impact on patients with respiratory system, asthma, sinuses and eyes.
3. Attention to the danger of valleys running and possibly forming torrents in areas exposed to thunderstorms.

Weather on Sunday (24-4-2022)

There is a decrease in the temperature, especially in the afternoon hours, but despite that, it remains above its average for this time of the year by 2-4 degrees Celsius.

The weather continues to be warm and dusty at times, as it tends to be hot in the Jordan Valley, Sea of the Dead and Aqaba.

Large amounts of clouds and cumulus clouds multiply rapidly, starting from the noon hours, and the opportunity for thunder showers of rain is prepared, God willing, in all areas of the Eastern Badia, which includes different parts of the governorates of Mafraq and Zarqa, including also Al-Azraq, Al-Safawi, Al-Ruwaished, The Jordanian/Iraqi borders and the Jordanian/Saudi borders and the ports leading to them. It is not excluded that these thunder showers in those areas will be heavy in some geographical areas, accompanied by hail showers and the occurrence of lightning strikes as well. As a consequence, it is feared that torrential and sudden torrential rains will occur. Cumulonimbus clouds are also accompanied by high wind activity, which may cause dense dust waves or sand storms that greatly reduce the horizontal visibility.

With the afternoon and afternoon hours, it is expected that some cumulus clouds will extend westward and randomly to also affect some other areas and cities, including the capital, where thunderstorms are also not excluded from rain in those areas with the possibility that they will be heavy in some narrow geographical areas. It is accompanied by hail showers, which may also cause the formation of torrents in some areas.

The winds will be northeasterly to northwesterly moderate in speed, highly active in the vicinity of the effect of convective clouds and cause dust waves.

Recommendations:

1. Attention to the high possibility of sudden and sweeping torrential rains in all areas of the Eastern Badia, which include different parts of the Mafraq and Zarqa governorates, including also Al-Azraq, Al-Safawi, Al-Ruwaished, the Jordanian/Iraqi borders and the Jordanian/Saudi borders and the ports leading to them.
2. Attention to the danger of severe thunderstorms and the risk of lightning strikes and hail showers, which may be large in size, especially in the eastern Badia regions.
3. Attention to the risk of reduced horizontal visibility as a result of dust waves.
4. Pay attention to the high levels of dust in the atmosphere from the effects of this on patients with respiratory system, asthma, sinuses and eyes.
5. Raising preparedness in the surrounding cities, including the capital, due to the possibility of the unstable weather conditions extending to them.
