Arab Weather - As the heat wave continues to affect Jordan and electricity loads rise to record levels due to heavy reliance on air conditioning , energy experts and electricity distribution companies warn of common practices that could cause monthly electricity bills to skyrocket.

The Electricity Distribution Company confirmed that lowering the air conditioner temperature from 24°C to 18°C could significantly increase electricity consumption, citing a study by the US Department of Energy showing that every degree below 24°C increases consumption by 3–5%.
The result? A higher bill and more stress on the electrical grid.
