Arab Weather - The latest weather map outputs in "Arab Weather" indicate that Hurricane Francine has intensified and turned into a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 90 miles per hour, and it is expected to continue developing before reaching land along the Louisiana coast today, Wednesday .

According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Francine is 275 miles from Morgan City, Louisiana, where the center issued a hurricane warning for the New Orleans area early Wednesday after the hurricane's path shifted slightly eastward.

Meteorologists said that the latest forecasts indicate that Hurricane Francine will continue to develop in the Gulf of Mexico, coinciding with the significant warming of the surface water temperature there, which greatly helps in feeding the hurricane with enough water vapor to develop quickly, amid expectations that it will reach land in the afternoon and evening of Wednesday.

In Louisiana, several flood warnings were issued after forecasters predicted the storm could make landfall there, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency warned all residents in areas expected to be hit by Hurricane Francine to prepare because of the real danger expected.

Weather forecasters at Arab Weather said that the latest hurricane monitoring maps indicate that the maximum sustained wind speed so far has reached 150 km/h with gusts reaching 175 km/h and an atmospheric pressure at the center of 970 millibars, while forecasts indicate that huge amounts of rain will fall in parts of Louisiana that may exceed 300 ml during the next 3 days, which increases the risk of flooding, road submersion, causing severe damage to homes and widespread power outages.
