Al-Zaqaq added that the shadow is a sign of the beginning of prayer times for Muslims, pointing out in a video on his Twitter account, that the shadow lengthens and shortens daily and seasonally, its longest daily cases in the event of sunrise and sunset, and its shortest cases at noon when the sun is vertical, while the longest cases of seasonal shade in the winter, and shorter in the summer.

And he continued, that the shadow of the noon disappears during these days in the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom, the Emirates, Egypt, Libya, Algeria and Mauritania, and after approximately 10 days the sunlight is broken.
