Despite the stable and summer-like weather currently prevailing in the Kingdom, with temperatures higher than usual, weather indicators show a significant change in the weather starting from Friday afternoon, represented by widespread activity in wind speed across various Jordanian regions.
Forecasts indicate that westerly winds will become noticeably active during the afternoon, evening and night hours of Friday, with strong gusts ranging in speed from 60-80 km/h in many areas , while they may exceed 80 km/h and sometimes reach about 90 km/h, especially in the eastern regions of the Kingdom .
Strong winds are expected to stir up dust and sandstorms in the desert and eastern plains regions, which may cause a decrease and possibly a complete lack of horizontal visibility on some external and desert roads.
The forecast shows varying wind intensity across different regions, with the expected winds being:
Amman 70 km/h
Irbid 65 km/h
Jerash 65 km/h
Ajloun 70 km/h
Balqa 70 km/h
Zarqa 65 km/h
Al Mafraq 80 km/h
Madaba 65 km/h
Karak 75 km/h
Tafilah 75 km/h
Ma'an 75 km/h
As for Aqaba and the Dead Sea
Wind speeds will be between 20-30 km/h, making these the best areas in terms of moderate wind speed.
